At Box Hill Jiu Jitsu our aim is simple; To help each student become the best person they can be We don’t simply provide students with physical education, we help students to understand themselves and develop the self confidence necessary to achieve their full potential. Our classes provide students with a positive learning environment where all students feel valued and received tuition according to their needs and abilities. To provide students with a training environment that is both progressive and safe, we offer three separate but integrated programs. The programs are divided by age and enable students to participate together safely and be rewarded for their progress at an age appropriate standard. Although the three programs build on each other, new students commence at the program level that matches their age and maturity. There is no requirement to have completed a younger age program. They simply begin the program at a lower level to students who have previous training experience. Little Legends (6 to 10 yrs) Little Legends combines Judo elements with fitness and games to provide a fun learning environment. Through the program students will learn basic throwing and wrestling techniques, including how to fall and roll safely. The program promotes self confidence, fitness and improved co-ordination. Silver Dragons (11 to 14 yrs) Silver Dragons teaches fundamental self defense skills in a non-competitive, non-aggressive way. Through the program students will learn techniques and concepts that will enable them to manage threatening environments and protect their personal safety. Emphasis is placed on safety and learning from each other. Techniques taught involve; throwing, grappling, escapes from common holds and striking techniques. Seniors (15+yrs) The senior class offer students a complete self defense program. The program promotes the use of mind and body together to maximise control and technique efficiency. Through the program students will learn self defense techniques against different types of physical and weapons attacks. Although the program teaches a fighting system, emphasis is place on self discipline and students are educated in the responsible use of the skills and knowledge they acquire. |
