Idokan Australia is a member of Idokan International which is based in Vienna, Austria and is headed by Director Hans Schöllauf. Idokan International has member schools throughout Europe, Canary Islands and Australia. The technical director is Kyoshi Rudolf Gabert in Penzberg, Germany. The Australian President is Renshi Kevin Walsh.

Idokan Australia is a registered organisation with Dai Nippon Butoku Kai International Division (DNBK ID). DNBK is based in Kyoto, Japan and is Japan's premier martial art society with the support of the Japanese Royal Family. Many of the members of Idokan Australia have been certified by DNBK ID.

Idokan Australia members regularly participate and teach in overseas international seminars. In an effort to share it's experiences, Idokan Australia is keen to meet with other martial art groups to train and share ideas in the true spirit of budo and friendship.
